The BikeErg uses the same flywheel and Performance Monitor as the Concept2 Indoor Rowers and SkiErgs, bringing the same strengths and features to cycling that they have in rowing and cross-country skiing.
The flywheel harnesses air resistance to provide a smooth, quiet ride that responds to your input. The damper is your "gearing," which allows you to change the sensation of your ride. Unlike most stationary cycles, the BikeErg incorporates a clutch, meaning that when you stop pedalling, the flywheel spins.
The robust Performance Monitor connects to various apps via Bluetooth, including our own free ErgData and third-party ones like Zwift. The BikeErg includes an inbuilt device holder to securely keep your smartphone or tablet in place. The device holder can accommodate everything from small cellphones to huge tablets and is simple and fast adjustable. The device holder can be removed, which moves the Performance Monitor to the end of the handlebar rail.
