Our Range of Core Gym Equipment
Strengthen and maintain your core muscles with our range of gym equipment for ab workouts. Our equipment enables you to exercise your upper and lower abdominals safely. Here’s what you can expect from our range of core and ab gear.
Weights & Resistance Gear
Elevate your crunches with our weight plates, dumbbells, kettlebells, barbells and accessories.
Dumbbells
We stock dumbbells in a variety of shapes, sizes and weights, available in either cast iron or steel.
-
Fixed dumbbells: Fixed dumbbells have fixed weights on both ends. They’re available in round and hex dumbbell varieties, and have steel handles for enhanced grip. Our dumbbells feature durable rubber, urethane or neoprene coatings for improved lifespan.
-
Adjustable dumbbells: Our adjustable dumbbells have removable plates, allowing you to customise workouts. Browse options ranging from 1kg to 60kg.
-
Commercial dumbbell pairs & sets: Fantastic for commercial and home exercise spaces, our commercial dumbbell pairs and sets are available in weights ranging from 2.5kg to 70kg.
Each dumbbell is coated in rubber to prevent injury or damage to the floor if dropped. They’re ideal for dumbbell exercises like bench presses, side lateral rows and goblet squats to enhance your core. Dumbbells are also great for Russian twists, plank rows, suitcase crunches and side plank raises.
Kettlebells
Our UK-designed kettlebells range from 4 kg to 60 kg. These pro-forged kettlebells are available as singles or sets and feature ergonomic handles, a compact design and a matte black finish. Use them to vary your crunches, reverse crunches and whole body exercises.
Other kettlebell exercises you can try include:
-
Kettlebell swings to engage your whole torso, especially your lower abs.
-
Goblet squats force your core to stabilise the rest of your body.
-
Kettlebell Russian twists engage your obliques.
Adding weighted exercises to your ab work can help you break through plateaus and further refine your core.
Olympic Barbells
Barbell exercises help you train your core from various angles, allowing you to target various muscles in your abdomen. Use barbells for landmine rainbows, barbell rollouts, barbell side bends and barbell straight-leg crunches. These exercises target key areas by forcing your core to stabilise your arms, lower body and spine.
Factory Weights stocks several Olympic barbells with a standard 2-inch diameter. Their heavy load-bearing capacity makes them an exceptional addition to strength training. We offer CrossFit, heavy-duty and women’s barbells, as well as specialist black zinc barbells.
Weight Plates
We offer a range of bumper plates, rubber plates and calibrated plates perfect for enhancing your ab muscle fitness regime. Each weight plate features a rubber coating to prevent noise and absorb shock. Use our weight plates for weighted ab exercises like dead bugs, overhead Russian twists, side bends and three-point crunches.
Resistance Bands
Our resistance bands are made from high-quality latex or stretch fabric and are available in several thicknesses and colours. They come in sets of varying resistances, ranging from extra light to extra heavy. To tone your abs, use the bands in Russian twists, Pallof presses or banded wood chops.
Resistance bands are the ideal starting point for core workouts and various other fitness regimes. Compact and easy to fold away, they’re also suitable for small spaces or outdoor workouts.
Core, Stability & Bodyweight Support Equipment
Our benches, ab wheels and exercise mat are great for toning your abdominals.
Adjustable Benches
Our adjustable benches are constructed with heavy-duty steel for maximum support during even the most intense exercises. Set them at an incline, flat position or decline during crunches to focus on your abs with exercises like reverse crunches, iron cross crunches or decline mountain climbers.
Exercise Mats
Use our lightweight exercise mats for planks, bicycle crunches and sit-ups. Featuring firm cushioning, these mats protect your back from injury. Our specially designed ab mat mimics the natural curve of the spine, supporting proper form during sit-ups, planks and side crunches.
Ab Wheels
Ab rollers help you focus on your core and are great for rehabilitation after a back injury. This accessory can help decrease stress on your joints and improve your posture while standing.
To use it, “screw” both feet into each other. With your arms straight, grasp the ab wheel’s handles and roll out with the wheel.
Power & Explosive Movement Gear
Adding power and explosive movements to your routine can help you develop endurance and balance, and add cardio elements to your ab-building regime. Often, these exercises not only target your core, but your glutes, arms and shoulders too.
Battle Ropes
Battle ropes require enhanced core stability and power generation. Our 7 kg, 9 kg and 12 kg ropes allow you to switch up weights as needed or kit out a commercial or home gym. Perfect for developing full-body strength, battle ropes are great for alternating waves, rope slams or single-arm plank waves.
Medicine Balls
When you use medicine balls, you force your core to stabilise. They're one of the most versatile pieces of gym equipment. Our medicine balls are available in weights of 2 kg through to 15 kg and double-stitched with nylon for extra durability during intense exercises. Use these medicine balls during Russian twists, V-ups or mountain climbers.
Plyo Boxes
We stock stackable plyometric, foam and wooden jump boxes for home and commercial exercise spaces. They allow you to train your body’s stretch reflexes and build core power through explosive movements.
Our wooden boxes don’t become slick with sweat, while our foam boxes have soft edges to ensure safety for beginners. Try plyo box exercises like hip drops or negative pull-ups to work out your abs.

FAQs
Explore our answers to common questions about our effective core workout gym equipment.
What are the benefits of core exercises?
Working your core aids in developing stability and balance, crucial when playing sports, walking and other everyday activities. A strong core makes it easier to do other activities, reducing fatigue, injuries and increasing overall endurance.
How do sit-ups work my core?
Sit-ups primarily target the rectus abdominis, the muscle group that runs vertically down the front of your abdomen and forms the basis of the "six-pack." They also engage the obliques (side abs) and the transverse abdominis, which is the deepest layer of abdominal muscle that stabilises your core.
When performing a sit-up:
-
The rectus abdominis contracts to lift your upper body, helping with forward flexion of the spine.
-
The obliques assist with twisting and side-bending motions.
-
The transverse abdominis activates to stabilise your spine, pelvis, and posture throughout the movement.
Together, these muscles support functional movements like sitting, standing, bending and rotating, while also improving core strength and spinal stability.
